Location: Kearny Mesa, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (On-Site)
Pay: $25+/hour DOE
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Position

Ultimate Staffing is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join our clients growing team. The Estimator plays a key role in transforming field measurements into accurate, profitable, and ready-to-order proposals. This position combines measuring expertise, product knowledge, pricing analysis, and vendor coordination to ensure every project is quoted correctly and delivered successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify field measurements to ensure accurate product specifications and order details.
  • Identify potential installation challenges before orders are placed.
  • Recommend products based on client needs, including privacy, light control, style, motorization, and budget.
  • Work with leading window treatment manufacturers such as Hunter Douglas, Fabricut, Pola, and other vendor partners.
  • Prepare detailed project estimates and client-ready proposals.
  • Calculate costs, pricing, markups, and margins to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
  • Maintain pricing templates and stay current on vendor pricing updates.
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy, including dimensions, mounting requirements, fabrics, colors, and operating systems.
  • Coordinate with sales, installation teams, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate customer, proposal, and order records within company systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience in window treatments, interior design, drapery/blinds retail, construction estimating, or a similar measurement and quoting environment, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas and pricing calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of markup, margin calculations, and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, proposals, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of major window treatment product lines or the ability to learn quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hunter Douglas certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience with CRM or order management systems such as ACT.
  • Background in construction, home furnishings, interior design, or custom retail products.
  • Experience with motorized window treatments and custom drapery solutions.
